Quality versus junk. This will tighten up your shift and give you a cleaner shift. Get the shift top also and your shifting will be night and day difference. Oh and the short shift plate. Just do all three with the transmission crossmember bushings. World of difference.
A much better shifting experience, more notchy, makes driving the car even more enjoyable.
Overtake does not disappoint. I installed the shifter bushing and it only took a few minutes. My old one wa dry rotted and falling apart. This it an awesome upgrade and shifts like butter. Thanks guys!!
I would highly recommend the overtake brass shifter bushing if you want to tighten up the shifts in your WRX or STI. The shifts feel so much more solid now.

Simple thing to add really. Knowing that the OEM bushing will make the shifter dance eventually, this change made the shifting feeling better. Knowing its going to last means one less thing to worry about.

IMO a must have mod for any Subaru 6-speed and OVERTAKE wins both quality and price! Easy install (you’ll probably have to get the car up unless you’ve got stretch arms) but is a 20 min job max!

I knocked out this bushing at the same time that I had the transmission out to do the clutch. Very easy to do in this situation. And it really tightened up the gear shifter going into gears. Such an easy piece to put in to replace a worn out OE bushing
The heavier weight of the brass gives the throw better direction, the weight feels almost like a counter balance to the throw
An easy upgrade…. I’d recommend if u have to lay on the ground like I did ,( take the old one out, then get out from u see the car , to grease the brass bushing (so your not confined and visually limited, plus you will need to clean your hands before going back under to install, the included grease is very sticky)

Hey! The factory shift plate does not utilize a small washer on the backside of the bushing, however if you're installing the OVERTAKE Shift Plate, we do provide a small washer to go there. Both kits will use the larger washer provided in our shifter bushing kit. Hopefully that makes sense, I'll leave both the install vids here as reference:
