Overtake Hi-Lift Hood Struts are the solution - eliminating the factory Subaru hood prop and replacing it with a sleek set of hydraulic shocks specifically valved for the weight of your car's hood for smooth operation. On stop of that, our kit enables the hood to raise 16% higher than the factory Subaru hood prop, allowing for much better visibility and access when working under your hood or showing off your engine bay.

Really nice upgrade for an older WRX, especially if you’re constantly working under the hood. Installation is straightforward and the hood opens smoothly and stays up securely without having to fight with the factory prop rod.
I’m currently bringing a 2003 WRX project back to life, so I’m under the hood constantly. Getting the prop rod out of the way makes a bigger difference than I expected and gives you much better access while working around the engine bay.
Fit and finish are good and everything needed for installation was included. Definitely one of those simple upgrades that makes working on the car a lot nicer.

This is a must buy part if you spend a lot of time in your engine bay. Not only does it make accessing the engine easier it also allows you to clean areas that were previously out of reach.

This is a very simple, inexpensive and great upgrade. It does allow for more room to work on your engine, more light but also SO much smoother than the OEM hood struts when opening and closing. This install took me about 7 minutes!
These are some of the best out there, they put the hood in a position that gives full access to the engine bay. Easy to install and makes a visual impact under the hood.

At this point most GR hatch probably need new hood struts, going high lift was the obvious choice. When installing these I did one at a time and one strut by itself could support the hood with ease. Solid product!
One of the best modifications for any Subie!! Install was a breeze hardware is great quality and the struts are amazing easy push on no tiny pins!! Great for show but even better if you work on your Subie get the hood to stand at attention and out of your way!! Great improvement over of design Ifykyk so glad I swapped mine.
