The Subaru Shifter Stop is something your car should have came with from the factory. A big issue with the design of the shifting mechanism on modern Subarus with cable shifted 6-speed manual transmissions is the slop in the cables that allows the shifter to move past the 1-2 gear gates. This can lead to a notchy shifting feel or in some cases, prevent the shifter from going into those gears at all!
The OVERTAKE Shifter Stop adds a mechanical limit to the side-to-side travel of the shifter, allowing you to perfectly tune it in for crisp and accurate shifts every time. Mimicking the factory reverse lockout, the main body is made from injection molded glass-filled nylon, offering excellent strength and durability while preventing any damage to your shifter like a metal version could. You will also notice a much more desired smooth feeling with shifting into it vs the metal versions from the competitors. Best of all, our kits include all of the necessary hardware for a quick and painless bolt-on installation.

Replaced a competitors with this one, this one makes shifting from 1st to 2nd feel so much better and a one of a kind design makes it better.
Had a built VA using mostly a “competitor”s parts in 2015. Now back with a VB and couldn’t be happier to find Chase doing his thing with OVERTAKE. This shift stop fits perfectly, easily adjusts, and takes your OEM shifting to the next level. Don’t forget your OVERTAKE brass bushing!
Best upgrade for the price! Very easy to install with just an Allen key and 10mm deep socket. It took me maybe 7 minutes. Just do NOT over tighten this shift stop. It will break. Ask me how I know. Other than that, this is a great product that works perfectly. Grab 4 or 5 of them to gift as stocking stuffers for your suby family!
Great product to enhance the driving experience. I may need to make some adjustments, but it is better than not having the stopper there.

Very easy to install and really tightened up the play in the shifter.
Beyond worth it. The positive change in shifter feel is amazing. Install was super easy, took all of 10 minutes. Cannot recommend this enough, and you dont have to worry about it damaging your shifter like the metal ones. Buy it!!!

The perfect mod as it's inexpensive, easy to install, and one that you'll appreciate every time you drive.
Really cleans up the 1st to 2nd gears. Could be a little longer on the bottom end as my shifter bangs against it going into 4th but it's not too bad. I may need to adjust it a little more.

Got rid of the crunchy shifts from an aluminum shift stop. Quality part easy install.
Installed on my 25 WRX VB, took the side to side play out when you’re in 1st & 2nd. Easy install.

Will this work with the factory STI Short Throw Shifter on the VB?
It will indeed; we have one of these and our shift plate installed in a car with a factory short throw and it feels great!
